On Hondo's podcast yesterday, he claims Josh McDaniels intentionally sabotaged Aidan O'Connell in the Chargers game
[
Starts around the 12:50 mark.
He says that Josh McDaniels wanted to start Hoyer, but he knew the fans were clamoring for Aidan O'Connell. So he decides to start Aidan O'Connell, but didn't prepare him, simplify any of the playbook for him, schemed poorly and let Khalil Mack go unblocked on purpose, in order to make Aidan look "like a rookie" and shut the fanbase up.
That's pretty wild. I hate Josh McDaniels already considering what he did to Carr, and then the whole #4 thing. I was never a Carr fan, but I thought it was a weird way to treat someone.
But this report is just another level. I wouldn't be shocked if it's true, only because of how weird it was to see McDaniels throw Aidan under the bus in the press conference, after the Chargers game.
I just didn't know someone could be petty enough, to do it on purpose.
Thoughts?
