On a semi-related note, I would love to have seen what it would have been like as a spectator to witness a high schooler challenge MJ/Bird/Kobe. Dudes would probably leave 'em slumped over in the puddle of their own sweat & tears thinking of an alternate career path. Imagine footage of this exact same scenario of a kid calling out MJ. shyt would be hilarious. Almost heart-breaking.
