Don’t a lot of Africans get French citizenships? Or is it Italy?

Who else they got

Mostly big guys: Siakam, Luc Richard Mbah A Moute, Christian Koloko (Raptors), Paul Eboua from the Heat's G-League team

I don't like this, but I get it. There's just not that much funding there in Africa for sports. Even Nigeria had problems with their teams, they could barely afford to send their guys to the Olympics.

Just a strange decision by Embiid though. He's not the most durable player and he's had so many injuries. Why is he going out of his way to play for a country he's never lived in and risk injury?

So the Olympics are turning into the NCAA where nations just recruit top talent? :stopitslime:
it's been like that. Basketball makes it easier because changing citizenship allows overseas players to play without taking up a foreign player spot.

Luka Doncic gonna be throwing lobs to Anthony Randolph and shyt

Represent Africa?

Cameroon has no shot at making the Olympics. He wants to play competitive international ball. No issue here
It’s pretty much the same as the HBCU argument in college. Everyone wants players to do it based on some principle, but the players only have a short time span to actually play, so they would essentially be sacrificing their own playing career in order to prop up a future generation and appease a certain group of fans, both of whom likely wouldn’t appreciate it.
