Jones: It’s ‘obvious’ Kaepernick is free agent for football reasons
The overwhelming consensus seems to be that political views have played a major role in why Colin Kaepernick has not been signed by an NFL team, but Jerry Jones is not willing to accept that.
In his weekly interview on 105.3 The Fan Tuesday, Jones was asked about Colin Kaepernick still being out of work. The Cowboys owner said he feels it is “obvious” that has to do with Kaepernick’s skills or lack thereof
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again — the truth about Kaepernick lies somewhere in the middle. If the 29-year-old could throw the ball like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, he would have been signed a long time ago. However, teams don’t feel he is a good enough player to overlook the added media attention he would bring. That means both football reasons and political reasons are a factor.
Jones doesn’t see it that way. For a guy who has made his stance on national anthem protests quite clear, it is no surprise that Jones is unwilling to accept that Kaepernick is being blackballed to some extent.
One step forward and two steps back.
Him taking the knee really means nothing. .
How about no comment Jerry, instead of that.
