Nicki Minaj is more talented than both of those women. And that's coming from someone who despises Nicki Minaj with a level of disdain you wouldn't believe, and actually like Paula/J.Lo.

Nicki Minaj is a good theatrical performer and can actually rap decently from time to time. It's not much, but Paula Abdul sucks and J.Lo is mediocrity personified.

Randy's been on the show since day 1, where's his hate?

You can argue about the talent levels of judges but as far as I know, none of those other girls were constantly bickering with other judges and throwing tantrums walking off the set like Nicki, which is really where the "hate"/criticism is coming from.

Randy Jackson is an extremely talented musician and record producer. His credentials are well known.

I'm talking primarily about the hate for Nicki that started before the show aired or the beef was even known about. You may not be all that into social media, but I am. People were very vocal about their outrage over her being chosen as a judge. People were bytching about a lack of talent and credentials, but were entirely fine with Paula for nearly a decade and Jennifer Lopez for two years. A lot of the disdain was a race based hate that was masked behind her "not being qualified".

If Ellen Degeneres, Jennifer Lopez and Paula Abdul are qualified, Nicki Minaj is certainly qualified. Again, this is coming from someone who hates her with a seething passion.

I think that's more because she's a rapper and not a singer. I dont know about these initial twitter comments but if they had gotten J Hudson or even someone like Ciara, I doubt it would have been the same reaction. Minaj is a rapper and not even a serious one. I forgot Ellen was even on there and I guess you can argue the racial implications of people not finding rappers as credible as singers in general but again, there's a lot more to it, which is why I mentioned Randy. It's not that Nicki is black, its that she's acting like an annoying diva when she's not even on the same level of other judges that have been able to act right. Mariah's a way bigger star, she's had a diva reputation and she's been way more down to earth during their "fued."
