With respect to the 2020s, crack ain't a popular business or drug anymore like it was in the 80s and 90s or even the 2000s.
Rappers talking about doing pills, and for a while lean, was a reflection of reality, despite all the out-of-touch-with-reality talkingheads complaining about it. However, right now, the newer rappers that talk about selling coke feels off.
Heroin took back its throne from coke. So, where is the dope and meth rap? That shyt is actually relevant. Just like we saw with lean rap and scammer rap, the audience is receptive to new ideas and themes. They're hungry for authenticity.
Aside from one-off tracks from a few older rappers we ain't seeing anyone do that consistently. Whoever focuses on that is going to go down as a pioneer. If anyone tries to bash them for it, they can point out how that's the reality rap of today whereas you rapping about coke is a lie.
