JBL talks about Eddie Guerrero's role in getting him over in the WWE: "Eddie and I were really good friends. Eddie wanted the JBL character to succeed very badly. When I first started, I had been a mid-card to an upper-mid card guy my whole career. I filled in a few main events, but I was not a main event guy. People just weren’t buying the JBL character, it was forced down on them. It was one day I was Bradshaw and the next day I was JBL, with a cowboy hat in a world title match - people just didn’t buy it.

"Eddie really took that personal and he took it upon himself to get me over… His brother [Chavo] was a huge instrumental piece of what we did during that time. That’s when we came up with the heart attack angle with his mother and that’s when we came up with the immigration, back and forth over the border. A lot of that was Eddie, Chavo and I sitting around in the dressing room talking. If it hadn’t been for Eddie I don’t think the JBL character would have ever worked."

JBL gives an update regarding his upcoming climbs: "I got Kilimanjaro next which is the easiest of the seven summits. It’s very high, 19,000 feet, but it’s the easiest of the seven summits... Some of these mountains, Aconcagua and Vincent, when you’re climbing, you got to be climbing the whole time. At Russia, we had a little bit of down time, that’s why I chose it, so I could learn mountain skills. I didn’t even know how to put cramps on when I got there. I learned a lot."

Eddie had a good mind for the business. All of the smarks who worshiped him would have hung Bradshaw out to dry. But Eddie saw potential in the character and got it over, giving us one of the best heel runs of the past decade.

Also, heels these days need to take lessons from JBL. He ALWAYS put his opponents over as world beaters, never won clean (that I can remember) and didn't try to say cool shyt to get over.

He tried to get the fans to chant "JBL" alot but that was never gonna work because of how hated he was. And it's no secret on Bradshaw's thoughts on why he mattered or even had a run to begin with.

I gotta give props to him for being at least SOMEWHAT realistic about his JBL run. Most dudes would consider themselves one of the GOATS just because they had the title.

I like that he simply was the bad guy you never wanted him to win . And also it wasn't the every week attack the face to reaffirm he's bad thing heels do .
I think with punk they should have him lay out big show like I don't like you either . Like I did it for respect Cena rock trying to overshadow the champion . I bust my ass for the belt and Rock Cena just belittle all the work I put in. I had to work harder and longer to get to the top and I'm staying there .

Who am I kidding Cena beats him then calls him a short order cook
