Jay-Z and Team Roc, the social justice arm of his Roc Nation entertainment company, have posted bond for a number of protesters arrested in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where authorities did not charge the officer who shot and killed 17-year-old Alvin Cole. Cole's mother, Tracy, was one of the arrested protesters on Thursday night (Oct. 8).

The rapper and Team Roc also paid an undisclosed amount of court fees for Tracy Cole, her daughters Taleavia, Tristiana and Tahudah, and several others, according to CBS News.

Alvin Cole was killed on Feb. 2 by Wauwatosa police officer Joseph Mensah, less than three minutes after police began to chase him through the parking lot of Mayfair mall.

Back in June, when the music industry took a pause to reflect on Black Out Tuesday, Jay-Z and Team Roc took out full-page newspaper ads across the nation honoring George Floyd. The ads featured a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from a speech in Selma, Alabama, in 1965.

The ad was signed by Jay, as well as the families of those who've lost sons to police violence (including Botham Jean, DJ Henry, Terence Crutcher and Antwon Rose II), activists (Van Jones), attorneys (National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer, Benjamin Crump, Innocence Project), radio host Charlamagne That God and is captioned "in dedication to George Floyd. #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd."
