It's not a club it's a sports bar/lounge, the club in the name refers to the 40 (hr) /40 (sb) club in baseball
Clubs have been dead for a min now
What happened to it originally
They wasn't making money because it was in a bad location for a sports bar. They want to move it to midtown I think.

Because who wants to wait in line to pay $40, buy a $200 booth and have average-good looking girls bring me a $500 bottle with sparkles on it if I can go to a bar next door for free and have the same good time without spending $1,000 on a random Tuesday night.
