as I was pre-ordering nba2k13 today, it really bothered me that jay z is listed as an executive producer and has his name on the front cover...this nikka is about to get paid millions for throwing together a bunch of highly praised songs that any music fan couldve put together.. and a joe budden diss :russ:

he had nothing to do with the production of the game, the grind none of them nikkas went thru...they put in a song about brooklyn too? they might as well just put a picture of him in a nets jersey on the cover breh

How do you know that he's getting paid millions?

Maybe it was a deal with the NBA as he's a part of the league.
Or perhaps it might be a en endorsement deal who knows, word is that he's been part of creating the game with the dreamteams and all that.

Jay only had a hand in the music selection, not with the creation of the game

lol my post was directed to that other guy that said that it was rumored that he had part in creating the game with the dream team. The only rumor is Jay talked to Scottie Pippen, and talked him into being apart of the dream team since for some reason Scottie didn't want to be in it

But like I said it might just be an endorsement deal with the league and all that being that jay is the "owner" that relates/appeals most to a younger generation I would assume, who really knows.

That's rare in today's sports gaming world, where each year's release is often defined by incremental success, and it's tremendously ambitious, especially since rap mogul Jay-Z handled much of the off-court experience.
That's led to menus being revamped to have more of a "hip-hop" feel, and you'll definitely enjoy the music.

No surprises here, but Jay-Z has impacted the game in other ways, as well. He helped the game finish out its nostalgic 1992 Dream Team correctly, convincing Charles Barkley to include his likeness in the game, according to 2K reps. Additionally, Scottie Pippen, who once claimed he wouldn't be included in this game, has reversed field (court, rather), and will allow his likeness, finishing out the accurate Dream Team. No word if that was Jay-Z's doing.

The rapper's fingerprints are elsewhere, as well. The My Player career mode has been completely rebuilt, allowing great in-depth player customization. You'll choose the clothes your player wears when he walks into the stadium, selecting from a boatload (and I mean a boatload) of different details, and you'll pay for it all with virtual currency.

There's a potential danger here, of course, because that virtual currency can be acquired in two ways: It can be earned with your play, or it can be purchased with real cash, too. If these were PURELY cosmetic enhancements, I would have no concerns; however, certain accessories, such as shooting sleeves, will offer stat enhancements. Let's reserve judgment, though, until we've seen the final product.

For all those brand-new RPG features off the court, 2K also manages to make upgrades on the court, thanks to a blast from the past. Nearly a decade ago, EA Sports' NBA Live series dared to let gamers control dribble moves with the right thumbstick, and 2K is bringing that back. It's not invoking the NBA Live name, but it is replacing its longtime shot stick with right-stick dribble moves. There is a way to use the shot stick, but it involves a bit of button gymnastics.

The Dream Team wasn't going to happen this year for us without Jay's involvement and assistance upon doing it," Jason Argent, vice-president of marketing for 2K Sports told ESPN, "and we're obviously very happy that he did that."
