Growing up I always thought Letterman was better but then you grow up and realize he looks like a grand wizard.:francis: Most of today's crop rely too heavily on celebs and gimmicks, falloon had the juice with all his hip hop 101 dances and word games, then kimmel got in on the discussion with his exclusive worldwide teasers. Now the British twerp is gaining steam with his carpool karaoke barely hear of Fallon anymore

Fallon has his flaws but he also has his moments, and with his games/skits and boy-ish look, you can see why there's appeal there. Leno was wack in all respects

Conan's still the god though, and IMO Kimmel's the most naturally funny out of all the hosts. Corden never has any guests I watch interviews of so I don't know how he is, but those carpool karoake's seem to click. Haven't seen much of Colbert's stuff either but he's kind of on another level

Fallon is objectively not funny. He is a very positive dude and his show has a "fun" premise to it. The celebrity mashup games make the show

If I want actual comedy and poignant late night, i watch Colbert or Kimmel

Craig Ferguson was prolly the most genuinely funny out of all them. He carried his show himself with almost no production value or budget, and was able to make some boring cringeworthy interviews funny by trolling the guests and doing most of the talking. He could be smart, silly, professional, offensive etc on command :ehh:

I always thought he had the best monologues outta Letterman, Conan, and him. Letterman had the better interviews though and Conan the better skits. Now, Fallon kills the skits and Kimmel has the better segments.

As corny as Leno was he was better than Fallon to me.

I'd much rather hear a monologue from Leno then Jimmy Fallon doing a karaoke version of Baby Got Back with some Cac actress :yeshrug:

Leno had the GOAT monologue because of his background in stand-up and good writers. His interviews were boring though. Conan was the opposite. His monologue is terrible, but he has the best interviews because that's when he freely uses his natural wit. Same thing in random segments of him out in public. Fallon to me has the best skits.

its a dead format...but i liked letterman cause he'd make fun of his guests & didn't mind awkward interviews...and people like howard stern & john witherspoon were regulars.....

Corden has the best interviews because they're done in the UK chat show format (all the guests come out at once)
