James Wan Would Like To Make a Batman Horror Film

James Wan is no stranger to making different genres of film. The director has moved from horror to action-adventure and now he’s tackling superhero movies. But, what if you could possibly mix the genres together? During the Aquaman junket, I got the chance to talk to Wan and asked him a question that I think many of us have wondered: Were there any other comic book properties that you would have liked to tackle before you ended up with Aquaman? And his answer was none other than The Batman.

The director’s idea for the Caped Crusader wouldn’t shock you. James Wan is no stranger to horror and you get a bit of his classic horror elements in Aquaman, but if he got his hands on Batman he’d make it a full on horror film. You can check out exactly what James Wan had to say below:

“In the past like most people I loved the idea of directing Batman, but a horror version of Batman. That would be a potential fantasy of mine, but I feel like he’s been done quite a fair bit. But, I do love the idea of doing an outright scary Batman. I feel like that’d be really cool.”

James Wan Wanted To Direct A Batman Movie & His Idea Is Exactly What You’d Expect

They need to let Wan make his Batman movie. Maybe a Man-Bat flick or adapting Red Rain or Grant Morrison's Arkham Asylum story.

They could even do it like an "Elseworlds" type thing like they are doing with the Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie if they didn't want to interfere with whatever Matt Reeves has planned for his Batman movie.

i liked the original concept borrowed from The Raid they were talking about a while back

do some epic Snyder like fight scenes, throw in some grey villians and some detective work and u got a classic batman movie/action flick waiting to be made

As far as there being too many Batman movies....it's like saying there's too many action movies. Or too many comic movies. People said there were too many zombie movies until "Shaun Of The Dead". The only thing that matters is what you do with the material.
