James Brown was a bad, bad man. It's sad he became a comedy punchline

Who else could make a song called "Ants in My Pants...I Need to Dance"

The real music-talent heads knew he was a force, but as a kid growing up in the 90s, he was basically a comedy punchline. Some of his own doing is at fault, but still. Bruh was that dude on stage and a force behind the mic

Just goes to prove that one man can make a difference as his influence is immense across many realms.

MJ rose from the mud JB tilled with his blood, sweat, tears and performances for years and years.

If you ever read his past, from where he was to where he'd get and the steps in between you'd see how the man is such a legend because finding a lane is one thing but actually building the street, placing the signs and blazing the trails is another entirely and James did that with a level of skill, vision and self confidence that was immense. Look at how many genres bear his imprint. How many who followed after him were influenced and how his tracks will spin from now to the end as there is nothing else that brings the energy like he did.

The man bet on himself against the odds when everyone told him he'd never win as he didn't have what it takes and history stands as testament to the fact that his confidence was correct. A legend and inspiration in the truest sense.

JB is hip hop. If you gave it a paternity test it would come back with his DNA flowing in its veins:

From beef, busting his guns to biters, wave riding and setting trends. All in one life. One spin. One Soul inserted as a credit in the game we're playing.

James did that so hopefully you see you can rise like that too.

James Brown is one of the greatest musicians of all time. He was a pioneer in R&B, Funk, Soul. He was one of the original fathers of hip-hop right there with George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic.

Its just unfortunately in the 80 and 90s his drug use spiraled out of control and combine that with public spats with his exes and his trouble with the law. It clouded a great legacy but still the man really helped open so many doors and inspire so many artists. He def belongs in the pantheon as one of America's GOAT musicians.

Oh he’s goated.

He needs more shout outs in modern hip hop.

I’ve seen an interview somewhere of Kanye saying James Brown was his favourite artist of all time
