I didn't really grow up with his music, so all I know is the negative about his life. And I would be lying if I said his support for Nixon and Reagan doesn't put me off of ever giving him a chance, seems like one of those legends that should just fade away.
He’s in the conversation for most influential artist EVER
Because of his on stage performance? Stevie Wonder is a better influence on music and culture than James Brown.

Are you trolling right now? He's one of the 5 most influential American musical artists of all time, up there with Miles Davis and a select few. He created funk and his sound was critical in the creation of multiple new genres (hip hop, drum & bass, jungle, breakbeat, etc). He revolutionized live performances, was one of the first artists to start doing longer concerts, and his influence can directly be seen from Michael Jackson to today's artists.
Are you trolling?
And what contemporaries are those because I have a feeling you’re going to list people who he influenced, like you did when you mentioned Stevie Wonder. There is a designation needed for people who created entire genres of music, or movements, or styles, or shifts. You flippantly dismissed James Brown out of ignorance and then pivoted to a Gen Z stance as if that absolves you.Not trolling, I'm saying being 'in the conversation' like @Houston911 said means there's an argument for his contemporaries. I'm not trying to diminish his contribution, I'm making the point that there were others with a more positive cultural impact; similarly influential artists who didn't support white supremacists and beat women. That's what I'm getting at in my first comment. The trailer focuses almost entirely on his impact politically, I'm not making this up out of nowhere, from a gen z pov, it seems hypocritical, why rehabilitate his image? Focus on the music if you don't want people asking questions.
That's what the trailer is focused on, I'm responding to what was posted Again, don't make it political if you don't want people asking questions. In the trailer: "He's authentically and unapologetically Black" is said while they show a photo of him drying his straightened hair Are we not supposed to notice these contradictions? His political or personal views are irrelevant to that fact. And his image doesn’t need to be rehabilitated.
You flippantly dismissed James Brown
Kanye West doesn't care about black people.
So he was cool when Trump was merely threatening to do crazy/racist shyt, now he's not cool after Trump...does what he said he'd do?
Kanye is a disgrace

Supporting Nixion wasn’t wild until 1976
We call them prime numbers, as in Math.. There is a designation needed for people who created entire genres of music, or movements, or styles, or shifts.
