Not trolling, I'm saying being 'in the conversation' like @Houston911 said means there's an argument for his contemporaries. I'm not trying to diminish his contribution, I'm making the point that there were others with a more positive cultural impact; similarly influential artists who didn't support white supremacists and beat women. That's what I'm getting at in my first comment. The trailer focuses almost entirely on his impact politically, I'm not making this up out of nowhere, from a gen z pov, it seems hypocritical, why rehabilitate his image? Focus on the music if you don't want people asking questions.

And what contemporaries are those because I have a feeling you’re going to list people who he influenced, like you did when you mentioned Stevie Wonder. There is a designation needed for people who created entire genres of music, or movements, or styles, or shifts. You flippantly dismissed James Brown out of ignorance and then pivoted to a Gen Z stance as if that absolves you.

He influenced everything that came after him in a way very few artists have. His political or personal views are irrelevant to that fact. And his image doesn’t need to be rehabilitated.

In the trailer: "He's authentically and unapologetically Black" is said while they show a photo of him drying his straightened hair Are we not supposed to notice these contradictions?
