In a sale that we can only hope went to a random patron with the last name Lewis, someone has purchased former Ravens running back Jamal Lewis' Super Bowl XLVII championship ring for $50,820.
Lewis was not a member of that team, of course, but Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti doled out the 3.5 karat rings to a select few legends, according to ESPN.com.
The 35-year-old retired in 2009 and filed for bankruptcy back in 2012.
In that same auction, a 2008 Patriots AFC Championship ring previously owned by Matt Estrella, the rogue videographer implicated in the team's Spygate scandal, went for $16,940.
UPDATE: The Ravens released the following statement in regard to Lewis:
"Jamal Lewis informed us that he was forced to sell the Super BowlXLVII ring due to financial difficulties. We understand and respect his decision."
