JACK LOEW BREAKS DOWN PACQUIAO VS. ALGIERI: "DON'T GET BEAT BY AN ALGIERI...PACQUIAO BETTER STEP UP TO THE PLATE"
By Percy Crawford | October 09, 2014

"I'm curious with this Pacquiao fight. It's either gonna go one or two ways, but I think it's gonna be a hell of a fight and this kid is gonna give Pacquiao fits or Pacquiao is just gonna knock him out early. I think the longer the fight goes, the better I think this is for this Algieri kid. If he survives an early onslaught from Pacquiao...I ain't gonna be surprised at the outcome at all," stated world-class trainer Jack Loew, who shared his thoughts on the November showdown between WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and WBO jr. welterweight champion Chris Algieri. According to Loew, if Pacquiao doesn't make a statement and take the fight right to Algieri from the beginning, he could be in for a long night.

"This kids got one hell of a jab and I don't care if it was luck or not, he beat one good ass fighter in Provodnikov. That kid can fight, he punches like a mule, and this kid gets up off the deck with his eye closed and he boxed the shyt out of him. I was actually shocked when I saw Pacquiao picked this kid as his opponent. Arum is doing everything they could until they can land this Mayweather fight. I think that they really, really think that they can walk right through this guy, and this kid could blow a whole lot of plans," Loew explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com. "And the thing is, this ain't like losing to a Marquez. You're losing to a kid that's fought for $15,000, $100,000 and now he's getting $1.5 million to fight against one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world and he's expected to get blown out. If he beats Manny Pacquiao, I think that Mayweather shyt is out of the window. I think Pacquiao's credibility then would be questioned."

Loew added, "You don't get beat by an Algieri, that's the bottom line. If you deserve to fight Floyd Mayweather for the mega-fight of the fukking century, then you can't lose to an Algieri. Pacquiao better step up to the plate and beat the hell out of this kid and force this Mayweather fight soon."

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR. TALKS PACQUIAO VS. ALGIERI: "MANNY BETTER NOT MESS AROUND...HE CAN'T FIGHT THE WAY HE USED TO"
By Ben Thompson | October 09, 2014

BT: Speaking of Manny Pacquiao, he's got a fight coming up next month with Chris Algieri. Do you know anything about the guy he's fighting?

FMS: I heard he's a tough guy, that's what I heard, but I don't really know who he is or anything. I don't know too much about him, but I know one thing. Manny better not mess around or he'll get whooped or knocked out.

BT: Well, Algieri can definitely box, but he's not a big puncher, so I think Manny will have to worry too much about getting knocked out.

FMS: Hey, when a guy can box, man...Pacquiao is not a defensive genius. He's not that. Floyd is that. That's what Pacquiao don't have. He can't fight the way he used to fight.

BT: Can you definitely see a difference in the way Manny fights now as opposed to the way he fought several years ago?

FMS: Man, you know damn well there's a difference. Who is the last guy Pacquiao knocked out? He ain't knocked no damn body out, man. He might not knock this guy out. I mean, I'm just telling you, man. You know before, man, he knocked down Shane Mosley. Then he stopped somebody like Cotto. How did he stop Cotto? Come on, man. He stopped De La Hoya. How did he stop De La Hoya? Everybody he fought, he stopped them. He ain't stopped nobody in four or five years now. He ain't doing nothing. I mean, come on, man. It obvious. How in the hell he ain't knocking nobody out now if he was knocking everybody out?

BT: Being not only Floyd's trainer, but also his father, does that irritate you a little bit if you hear people saying that Floyd is afraid to fight Pacquiao?

FMS: Man, I don't pay attention to that because you know why? I know Floyd will whoop Pacquiao's ass. He ain't afraid of nothing. shyt man, come on. Pacquiao couldn't even whoop Bradley. He's having problems with them kind of guys, come on. Floyd is the best, I must confess. For all the rest, there's no contest. He will shock your mind, he's one of a kind; he's the greatest fighter of all time.

:mjlol: at thinking a win over Algieri is going to "force" a Mayweather fight. No one gives a fukk about Chris Algieri. Beating him means less than nothing.

I guess Floyd Sr forgot that they all got sued the last time he intimated at where Manny's power comes from.
