I've noticed Indian-Americans have been embracing pro wrestling a lot recently

The Swamp
It all started with Aziz rocking the NWO Wolfpac shirt on SNL

Then in season 2 of Master of None, Aziz's character goes on various first dates with women. This girl was obsessed with pro wrestling and recapped an alternative future SummerSlam in which Samoa Joe wrestled Dean Ambrose for the WWE championship

After Jinder Mahal won the WWE championship, sexy ass Lilly Singh (with over 2 million Twitter followers) shouted out Jinder:

Jay Sean shouted him out too:

Hasan Minhaj did the Whitehouse Correspondent's dinner this year and roasted Trump. He also has a dope Netflix special out right now too. He was on Stephen Colbert's show and made this wrestling reference about Triple H coming out with Trump announcing X-Pac was back :mjpls:

I don't know where I'm going with this, but it's just interesting to me. I think non-white wrestling fans are hungry for the WWE to push a normal, non-stereotypical, minority champion. One of the reasons the Attitude era was so big business-wise was because of guys like The Rock & Booker T. Non-white wrestling fans had someone that looked like them that they could cheer on to success. There's no one being pushed to that level right now in the WWE until Jinder Mahal more recently. There hasn't really been anyone like that in a long time in wrestling. Say what you want about Jinder's past or wrestling abilities, but it's refreshing to see people coming together to root for Jinder's success :manny:

Wrestling has always been big in South Asia. They just never tapped into the market.

They still haven't pushed a brown wrestler who doesn't have a stereotypical gimmick. Hell, the only one in the 100 year history of wrestling WITHOUT a stereotypical gimmick if Mustafa Ali.
