It's official: Ryan Reynolds to return as 'Deadpool'

Apparently it's finally chimichanga time for Ryan Reynolds.

The Canadian actor will reprise his role as Wolverine: Origins' masked "merc with a mouth" Wade Wilson in the movie Deadpool. The one-time Green Lantern star tweeted a bullet portrait of the comic-book fan favorite on Thursday — plus a reference to the antihero's favorite deep-fried Mexican food — and 20th Century Fox confirmed the news to USA TODAY.

The spinoff featuring the chatty and very violent Marvel Comics character, who first appeared in New Mutants No. 98 in 1991, has been talked about since the release of Origins five years ago. In September, Fox had slotted the movie in a Feb. 12, 2016, release date but Reynolds hadn't signed on officially.

Deadpool will be directed by debuting feature filmmaker Tim Miller and features a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Lauren Shuler Donner is producing along with Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige.

Most Marvel films have this air of seriousness about them with some humour sprinkled in.. perhaps he might make a cameo in GOTG 2? Like they land on earth cuz of starlord he gets caught up in some short violent scene and then you just see deadpool chopping up mofukkas in the background

It won't, seeing that Deadpool falls under the X-men rights and therefore is a Fox property and not a Marvel Studios property. I hope they will incorporate a bunch of X-characters into the movie as well, I would die if they put in the infamous "Snikt me!"/Shoryuken scene.
