i can't believe it's been almost 10 years since the wrestler came out but it has and outside of reprisin' his role as marv in sin city 2, my man mickey ain't had much luck with the movies at all. it seems like he just been pickin' straight to redbox blu ray movies for a check :mjcry:

make no mistake about it, he still got the actin' chops but what kind of movie could he possibly do now for another "comeback"? :jbhmm:

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I've heard that the dude is genuinely difficult to work with and a lot of people are weary of him because he speaks his mind (the latter is okay with me), but when he wants to go - look the fukk out. I watch The Wrestler at least 3 or 4 times a year. That might not even be enough.

yeah, it's well known he was VERY vocal on set and in the past was very difficult to work with certain directors. he's been on record sayin' if it was director he had a lot of respect for, then he had no problems workin' with them. like for instance, he always got along with francis ford coppola. bu if it was a director who he already didn't have a lot of respect for and was just goin' through the motions and doin' the movie for a check and the director was a "know it all" who didn't know much at all or just a bit of a dikk, then he gave em' hell, lol

i think in recent years (last like almost 15 years or ago) he's calmed down quite a bit through

Yeah, I heard stories from back in the day about him walking off set and refusing to shoot because they wouldn't let his dog on the set.:dead: I think the only director he's vocally has problems with in recent years was Jon Favreau (Iron Man 2) although I do wonder why Stallone never brought him back for any of the Expendable movies since they were tight.

great recent interview
Still Plenty of Fight in Mickey Rourke

he says he'd rather train dogs for a living but it doesn't pay. he trashes a bunch of directors & says movies suck now

yeah, i listened to this interview bout a month ago, this the 1 with alec baldwin's podcast

really great interview

it's a shame there's no current really active director out there that he seems to respect :mjcry:

I didn't care for it. Pretty sure I put on my most overrated films of all time list. #8 maybe.

Once he fukked up his face, he fukked up the range of roles he was going to be able to get.

Throw in how hard he is to work with and that's why he's relegated to straight to DVD/VOD flicks with Dolph Lundgren and Jason from True Blood these days.

His own fault all around. :francis:
