the 31st of this month marks 20 years since selena's death :to:

i know this thread is a few weeks early but i was listenin' to selena so i just thought i'd get things started early. i can still remember hearin' the news, i couldn't believe my ears :sadbron:

selena was just bout to really dominate the industry with her music as well as fashion. i can't believe it's been 20 years. i was reminded of this last week when i was in wal-mart and came across one of her cds i'd been lookin' for and then the very next day i heard "i could fall in love" on the radio :wow:

she maybe gone but she's definitely not forgotten. may she forever rest in peace :mjcry:

let's start this thread off right with her biography

Me: Who? :dahell:

Mom: Selena. That singer with the big booty. You know... :usure:

Me: No, I don't. :manny:

Mom: Well she died. A crazy fan killed her. :wow:

Me: Oh, ok. That sucks. I'm gonna go play basketball by the park. :smugbiden:

Serious question, can some explain Salena's crossover with black women? Not saying she's not capable, but I've noticed a grip of black women fukk with her music.

Doesn't matter your color or creed, breh.
Good music is good music.
Plus Selena has a lot of tracks that you could hear on any average R&B station.

Black women especially love that genre.
Add the fact that her life ended in tragedy and the music will crossover to even more demos strictly off the novelty.
