Looking around on google, there are no concrete numbers but a lot of sources do classify it as (relatively) low-budget. It's a found footage film by a first time director, chances are the only reason it got to be made was because the budget was so low, Disney was okay with it.

The trailer I watched didn't seem all that bad. I hate found footage films though. It's like actors don't know how to be real people and writers don't know how to write their characters talking to the audience.

The only found footage film that even came close to passing is the blair witch project.

But I watched this trailer and it looks like a kids movie but not as terrible as other movies have looked. Plus the black kid looks like he's in the lead role so I'm not mad at that

People saying this is biting E.T. yall do realize that the demographic that this movie is aimed for have probably never heard of it right? The movie is 32 years old for christ sake get over it.
