Well if they sought political asylum then they can't go back to their countries. The right wingers in Israel are really no different from the racists in the US during the Civil Rights era.

Israeli Leader to Deport African Asylum Seekers

Israeli Leader to Deport African Asylum Seekers

John Tanza
June 13, 2012
The leader of South Sudanese community in Tel Aviv says the recent decision by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to deport 25,000 immigrants from Ethiopia, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana and South Sudan is against the U.N. Charter on refugees and asylum seekers.

Simon Mayar said South Sudanese living in Israel are being threatened by Jewish hardliners to leave Israel or face trouble. Mayer said top Israeli officials are behaving as if they have never heard about the ongoing violence in South Sudan and border fighting between Sudan and South Sudan.

"They know exactly what is going on in South Sudan, because many officials, even the Israeli ambassador has been to South Sudan, so they know that [the South Sudanese] need more time," he said.

VOA correspondent Scott Bobb in Jerusalem said more than 100 South Sudanese have been arrested and are to be deported soon. Many South Sudanese say they are willing to be deported with some financial help to get back home. For three days, Israeli immigration authorities have been rounding up African migrants in a new push to deport illegal aliens.

Mayar said he is encouraging South Sudanese people to register with Israeli immigration officials so they can be deported without being arrested.

Asylum seeker Michael Bazia, who lives in Arad in Southern Israel, says the South Sudanese would like to go home, but he too says they need more time. He said the situation in South Sudan is too dangerous for people to return now.

"Every day [Sudan President Omar al] Bashir is bombing 24 hours, every day," he said. "Even yesterday, Bashir was talking security issues" [at the peace talks in Addis Ababa].

Israeli residents have recently staged violent, racially-motivated attacks against African nationals. Israeli residents accuse African immigrants of causing the crime rate to rise in recent months.

Human rights activists are protesting, saying the Israeli government should first determine the asylum status of immigrants before deporting them.

The government of South Sudan is dispatching a delegation to oversee the deportation process in Tel Aviv.

I think it's foul but Israel isn't doing anything wrong legally, every country has the right to control its borders, you can't go into a country without any papers

May be true.........but this was a point I heard on a radio broadcast today......they kick out the illegal Sudanese refugees, but in the U.S. the ADL defends illegal immigrants......:manny:

Immigrants Targeted: Extremist Rhetoric Moves into the Mainstream

Immigrants Targeted: Extremist Rhetoric Moves into the Mainstream

In January 2006, Michelle Dallacroce founded Mothers Against Illegal Aliens (MAIA), a group that, in her words, was formed “to show every mother in America what is going on on our streets.” Through media appearances, connections with extremists, and personal appearances at anti-immigration events, Dallacroce promotes themes that demonize immigrants. She describes immigrants as a “mass invasion” of unintelligent, disrespectful, conspiratorial criminals while targeting her message to women and families. She focuses on immigration as a threat to American children and denigrates the values of immigrant families, branding immigrant children as “dumb” and violent.

Denigrating immigrant children

The MAIA “Mission Statement” directs readers to:

…decide if our children are the forgotten and silent victims when it comes to their education in schools overrun by illegal aliens and to their safety from a border in peril. Ultimately, it is up to you to decide for yourself if you want to get involved, protect your family and country, or if you’d rather watch from the sidelines and let our government do your bidding as it gives away your livelihood, your future and your country to a foreign entity that is dictating U.S. immigration policy…our children and our country are at risk of being eliminated!
Dallacroce, echoing the same theme in an interview on the radio show of anti-immigrant activist Frosty Wooldridge in October 2007, stated, “The thing is, the children in our schools are being taught bad habits, the school systems are being dumbed down, it’s a matter of fact.” She had previously voiced the same sentiments in a May 2006 interview on CNN’s Nancy Grace, where she said, "My children, as well as my grandchildren and everyone’s legal citizen children in our schools, are being affected, dumbed down."

Dallacroce has also claimed that immigrant children are not only “dumb” but raised to be disrespectful and violent. Following an immigration rights Labor Day rally at the Arizona State Capitol in September 2006, media accounts described a woman screaming at a child through a bull horn, surrounded by counter-protestors who referred to Mexicans as “dogs.” In an Internet post, Dallacroce admitted, "I am the lady who is being talked about…We have a prime example of what kind of children are being born and what they are being taught by their illegal alien parents to disobey and disrespect American citizens. This 9 year old boy is being taught to be a violent and hostile child. If this was my child I would have washed his mouth out with soap or better yet, I would have put a lot of tabasco sauce in his mouth..."

An angry right-wing regime singling out a minuscule part of the population and threatening to lock them in detention camps and deport them to other countries that will probably bar them from entry.

You know, I can't quite put my finger on it but I think I might have heard this one before.

Figured I should bump this since its something thats been gaining attention. These undocumented refugees have basically refused to go back to work until their demands are met, mind you this month Israel will begin major deportation of these people.

Basically, Israel don't want to recognize the refugee status of its almost 60,000 African migrants even though they come from situations where asylum should apply. I know Eritreans in particular are granted asylum as soon as they enter the U.S., so it's not as if the refugees in question don't have similar accommodations in other parts of the world. Nevertheless, the Israeli govt portrays the Africans as economic migrants and infiltrators and after so long are thrown into a harsh prison in the middle of the desert for an indefinite period of time according to the migrants. So for the past 3 days these refugees, mainly from Eritrea, Sudan, and Ethiopia, have been protesting all over the country for the UN to step into this matter and for Israel to recognize them as political asylum seekers.

No they don't,

When asylum applies, Israel does plenty:

Israeli Classrooms for Sudanese refugee Children

Israeli citizenship for Sudanese refugees

Israel grants 5million dollars in aid to refugees from Sudan and Chad

Sudanese refugees given work in Eilat

I know Eritreans in particular are granted asylum as soon as they enter the U.S.,

Maybe it is because they enter and actually seek asylum instead of sneaking in and looking for jobs.

The actual refugees (note: Not people who are there to make tax-free money) are loving Israel and praising it:

Darfur refugees waving Israeli flags: "Israel accepts us [..] better than Arab countries. We love Israel. We can have anything here, because they help the Darfurian people"

"The word Israel is like the word "protection." We are granted citizenship and will vote in Israeli elections. Israel for me is a second home

In schools we learned Israelis are bad. No other country accepted us but Israel. I thank the lord every day I open my eyes that I came to Israel.

First of all, no refugees have said Israel is a bad country nor did I intimate that they did. Rather that its misguided in its policy towards them but I know you go to great lengths to fabricate some slight against Israel.

May I ask, what's the difference between those Eritreans you say are "actually" seeking asylum and these refugees in Israel? How is it in America its "actually seeking asylum" but in the case of the country you so staunchly defend its tax free money? You do know that type of stuff is a symptom of the government not giving them an easier path to legitimate citizenship. Not to mention, they make up quite an in demand sector when we're talking cheap undocumented labor. Israel is one of the best countries in that region, these people come from horrible situations, so describing this as some kind of hustle for tax free money either underscores your bias, ignorance, or both. :ld:

Bottom line, the main reason why these refugees are in Israel to begin with is 1. to escape their unstable/oppressive countries(I'd love to see you argue otherwise) and 2. because Egypt is absolutely unfit for these people as they themselves are quick to tell. Worse part is, some of them only want to live in Israel for a short while until they can make a way to Europe or the U.S. where most of them would probably rather be.
