I got nothing against THC/cannabis personally, and I know it can almost be used like herbal medicine, and has health benefits etc



but is there someone in society at the top, who benefits from keepong people docile, and "complacent" to a certain degree?

Your premise ignores the two inconvenient truths.
1. You have free will. No one is forcing people to self medicate.
2. The type of people who are complacent with living blunt to blunt aren't going to do shyt anyway.
I have smoked more than my share of herb and the people I know who are the most hardcore are also the laziest and most disorganized people on the planet during their moments of sobriety.

There are a fukk-ton of people who think 100,000+ people are killed a year by marijuana. I'd wager the most used drugs in America are 1. Alcohol 2. Tobacco 3. Prescription meds 4. Weed 5.Cocaine

weed is definitely responsible for making me more sensitive and thoughtful towards the world, but I do know that for some people it doesn't do any of those things. But a full blown psychedelic experience can completely alter your entire perception of life in regards to war, politics etc.

Joe rogan used to have a joke about dropping a giant psychedelic mushroom bomb on Iraq to end the war. Its funny, but it would probably work.

I'm talking a hardcore mushroom or acid trip where you're focusing on having a spiritual or self exploratory trip. The problem with drug culture is that these substances are used to "party" and you CAN use them in such a manner but it doesn't translate to learning anything or growing as a human. I was being a little silly saying they could fix the world.. but if they were used right and were considered sacred by our society? Maybe. There is a reason Nixon was scared of the hippie protest/drug culture movement. And politicians have used marijuana, but what politician was a straight up WEED HEAD? they do it once or twice at harvard and then move on. They're career focused people.

maybe if their pot-smoking carried beyond their formative years into the years they spend in positions of power, we might not have such passive aggressive foreign policy and narrowed views of the world outside our borders...
