is it racist? unfortunately yes. now knowing the 2 artists involved I know they aint mean it to be racist, heck, they aint even direct it. But same with Plan B's Ill Manors, what is it with these white kids putting black kids acting like criminals in their videos? this what i was saying in that Black And White movie thread, white privilege allows these white kids to play around with these damaging images and not bear the consequences of the black kids who gonna be stigmatised by these images. Its controversial when black artists do it, so what make a white person think they can do it?
I think Dizzee Rascal can get away with it though, i loved his Graftin video, and even better was his Sirens video, which subverted all this imagery anyway, and here come these dum dums taking us back to nonsense. they should be explaining why ish is the way it is, not enforcing the already fked up stereotypes.
