There are so many similarities between both movements-
The use of media to depict dehumanizing moments
Grassroots oriented organization methods
And widespread protests and arrests, with many instances of extreme use of brute and murder
People in power still listening to one or two people instead of the masses (thats the way its designed to work btw)
Mass mobilizations in DC

AND....
The country is stuck in a never ending war
There is a cold war of sorts with terrorism
Too much money being spent on space
Too many brothers wanting to make it by music rather than by college (I can expound on this, but the phenonema of the broke rapper aint new. Fools fell in love with that Doo-wop shyt yet it influenced the next generation of music. But thats another subject)
Revolutions happening between the parties, with figurative heads arising to presidency (Obama and JFK)

Only difference is white on black violence has become more institutionalized (or has it?). And its not even different, because white supremacy has always operated on another level. Outside of our reach to change.

Thoughts?

The civil rights movement began in 1942 with the emergence of CORE until Kings death in '68..Thats a 26 year run...none of these groups today will be around past 2-3 years if that due to this attention deficit generation
