Is this the end for this iteration of the Clippers?

I know most folks have acknowledged they've failed to live up to expectations, but the circus of the Nets over the last couple of years has really stopped the Clippers from being put under the microscope, who've been just as bad, if not worse.

They were projected to hit in excess of 50+ games this season, and be one of the best teams in the league, yet they're struggling to stay above the surface with a cupcake schedule to start the season (they've only played two playoff teams in 10 games, both of which they've lost), Kawhi's health remains in limbo, they've got a roster filled with redundancy, and a coach who seemingly can't get the best out of them.

With a rotation that doesn't have an elite playmaker, you'd think after 2-3+ years together, they'd have an egalitarian system where everyone chips in, especially with the amount of wings they have, but it seems they still don't have an identity on offense:

29th in passes made
26th in assists
30th in offense (to put into perspective, they were 24th last season).

If they haven't figured out how to play as a team by now (to compensate for when Kawhi is out), is there really any hope for them?

All I know is that going to the Clippers never made basketball sense. Personal wise sure he wanted to be there but basketball and career? Kawhi could have played 40 games a year in Toronto, let Siakum and the other guys secure a top 5 seed and then focused on being healthy for a playoff run. While getting paid out the ass and worshipped by those fans.

He’s never gonna be healthy enough to make it work in LA/the west.

Their window has closed and they will be back to irrelevancy. Have no fukking clue why so many people were picking them to win the tile this year. Western Conference version of the Nets. Ultimate paper champions who get so much underserved respect preseason

I'm a little shocked at how John Wall is like just an average bench player they made such a big deal of that acquisition he's basically like current Derrick Rose

I don't think he assumed he was gonna get hurt like he has lol
I mean the bubble was kind of their year they just choked it

team is weird in a sense, a broken down star who can barely get on the court, a aging SG/SF that I have no issues with, he stays in his lane and works on his flaws but he's not a great rebounder and not really that physical to take alot of bumps and the playoffs get physical.

John Wall who I respect for his effots regardless of his declining talent, Norman Powell who I felt the blazers should have kept, Zubac who can't really go up against top centers, Reggie Jackson who plays pretty decent considering his role.

Team looks good but I see a issue with passing and rebounding at times, it's just a group of athletes with little structure, not to mention Klaw has always been a Star who's kinda Lebronish in a way, he doesn't really set up the offense and isn't really a fast player on both sides of the floor.

He should have stay in Toronto and enjoyed that free food for life and those hardcore fans who adore him, could have eaten lovely until 35-36 and retire. They got athletes, size, speed they just need that one star player too....

Take clippers out the thread title & insert warriors,
What do the Warriors have to do with this Clippers' experiment being a failure?

You have this unhealthy obsession of trying to insert GS into the discussion as if they won't ride off into their sunset on a horse that every franchise is hoping to breed.
last season Boston was mid until January, then became the hottest team in the league
Well, for starters, Boston's franchise player can actually stay healthy, and their two best players are in their mid-20s; the Celtics have plenty more years ahead of them to win a championship. Whereas PG is 32 and Kawhi has a degenerative condition where he can't even take the floor - the light at the end of their tunnel is getting dimmer by the day.

I don't need to tell you all this, so I don't see the sense in trying to play dumb with this false equivalence.
Dude made this thread with kahwi out:mjlol:
There's a special irony to this. I'm sure you'll be able to work it out.

Yes, it's pretty clear Kawhi is never gonna be the same, which means it is over for the Clippers.

Trading Kawhi would probably be impossible but I would expect Logo to push for a Paul George trade so they can recoup some assets since OKC has a lock on their picks through 2026.

The whole damn team has regressed. They traded for Norman Powell and his bricking everything. Terence man has regressed. John Wall is a nonfactor. Kawhi will never be the same player again his knees are toast. Paul George can’t carry this this team they need to make a trade at the deadline and blow it up this summer.

Cuz as wakk as the clippers been they still have a better record than the warriors who you cape for

If we were 30-40 games in with kahwi playing you’d have a point. Utah has beaten multiple good teams this season so far & that means nothing cuz last season the bulls & wizards started off good & both fell off. You just pushin agendas

They've only won two more games, despite playing weaker competition.

The fact you're putting all this emphasis on their respective records, instead of looking at the bigger picture, which this thread is clearly based upon, let's me know you've got your head in the sand.

The Warriors have extensive mileage dating all the way back to 2014 with their core, so it's only natural that their regular season record isn't going to be the best at the start of the season; they pace themselves better than any team because they know when to up the ante at the right time for the postseason.

Why do you keep saying with Kawhi playing as if Kawhi's not going to be in street clothes for the majority of the season?
Utah has beaten multiple good teams this season so far & that means nothing cuz last season the bulls & wizards started off good & both fell off.
And what does all that have to do with the Clippers over the last 2-3 seasons? Why do you keep bringing up other teams instead of addressing the actual topic?
You just pushin agendas
I'm trying to start a genuine discussion around the state of this team going forward, and you ran up in this thread with the Warriors on your mind.
