I was thinking about this in the Randy Savage thread. Guys like Hogan, Savage, The Rock, Flair, and Austin truly transcend wrestling. They are guys that someone who has never seen a wrestling match in their life but know those gentleman. Everyone knows the "ohh yeah!," "If ya smell," "Woooo!," etc. You have a generation of people regardless of race that grew up in the 80's and 90's and know them.
Is there someone on the roster presently that can become a pop culture icon outside of wrestling? I'm not talking about a guy that makes an appearance in a straight to dvd flick but someone who has never seen a Raw or Smackdown but know about them.
