Is there a song that LL Cool J dropped in the 2000's messing with this one?

Of course, I'm talking about from a lyrical standpoint -- not any of his commercial stuff that isn't comparable. Seriously, listen to this nikka's wordplay on here (and this isn't even on an album). Absolutely ridiculous. This just came on in my shuffle, and it literally stop me in my tracks because I had forgotten all about this song.... The only song that I can think of that's maybe seeing this one, is "Ill bomb" off of G.O.A.T, but I still think this track (lyrically) is better.

When he breaks down his top 5...... :wow:

LL reminds me of a supremely talented athlete (HOF caliber) that has the innate ability to turn back the hands of time, every so often, to show people what makes him great.

and i fully agree with the threadstarter LL is the ultimate rapper who can switch up from cruise control/autopiliot and come out swinging to show u how ill he is and why he calls himself the G.O.A.T. when folks feel he lost it or fell off.

where the hell did this come from? flames

He dropped this in 08' breh.

Whats the beat called?

This is a original beat, but it may sound a bit familiar to you seeing as how this is the same sample used on Eric B & Rakim's "Mahogany."

Marley Marl killed this.

See, that's what makes him one of the greats tho. This shyt right here is undeniably smooth and yet, at the same time, he still managed to be lyrical here. Didn't you hear the descriptions of his top 5? He encompasses everything that he mentioned including Ladies Love Cool J, which is known for that "smooth shyt" you're talking about.

LL has to be in the top 25 of "Damn, I wish I was that nikka" list of all time :ohhh:

"use to lose battles on purpose so these cats could dream more,
I wanna see y'all shine without the use of a nine,
you might see a nikka, I see a black Einstein"
:wow:

This was actually what I had anticipated to be posted first , but this really loses points IMO when he starts 'speaking' Spanish with English. He already didn't have the best flow on the song, but that shyt was just disjointed....

I remember he had a mixtape track that dropped in 2007 where he was rapping about knowing the big time new york hustlers in the 80s and it was over a bobby womack sampled beat that was flames. Hot 97 played it for a bit too. Can't remember the name of it but it was kinda nice.
