Is there a reason to collect blu rays or any physical movies anymore?

Just download. I don't have time to find a bluray, open the case, take out the disc (if it's even there), pop it in, load it up, wait for the previews to end for the disk menu to come up, and then select play JUST to watch a movie when I can just turn on my 2tb WD with hundreds of my downloads on it and click play in 1/3 of the time. Blurays and dvds are a joke. At least my hub remembers where I was when I stop any video. If I take out my disk and put in another one, I gotta go through all that shyt again as well as find where I was in the movie if I decide to finish it.

I back up what's mine forever. It takes less time for me to find what hard drive or CD I backed a movie on than to sign on to Netflix - or even worse, go link hunting - and start it from there.

And I've got shytty internet that likes to hiccup right when I'm
watching something or goes out for random reasons all the time, I never have to worry about that with my physical copies. :yeshrug:

No matter how many times these threads get made, physical media and people who buy physical media will not go away. They still and will continue to make CDs, vinyl, Blu-Rays and whatever ends up replacing them. Hell, they still make cassettes. Collecting and the act of owning a physical representation of something will never not exist. I also cannot count on a server to always have what I need. And downloading a file is akin to buying a physical product.

Downloading is a waste of space IMO but I guess if I had a tablet or something I'd care and have it all neatly organized but I don't even download music anymore. :manny:

I got future on my phone and my own music and that's enough for me

Im really starting to cut down and just cop those i love.

Its tempting to go digital since digital comes out 3 weeks earlier but like @Uncle_Ruckus says its so much easier to play something off my pc.

Physical is for cinephiles only now. Casuals will stream
Yeah I guess I'm casual.

I'll see it in the theatres and then maybe red box it or stream online :shaq:

I bought guardians of the galaxy though

I'll buy movies I love but it has to be a special package such as steelbox

If its a brrip thats worth having, I'll get the yify version, TV shows I just d/l and then delete. My d/l limit is basically unlimited so I dont watch space. I got tb's of space around my house so I'm good.

Cut cable brehs.

i got prime and had hulu, it's the same shyt. depending on how interested in something i will either:
A. buy the blu Ray. if it's some classic or big name shyt.
B. download and put on flash drive.
C. wait for it top come on hbo

I'm cool on watching cams versions and streaming sites. i wanna control shyt I'm watching with the remote control, i wanna hear that surround sound, i want that top notch quality.

I still cop my shyt

One: I like owning my shyt that's the first thing.
B: I'm an old school cat and I like being able to look at my shelf of movies and add to it.
C: Streaming can go bad, quality can vary and as we've seen with netflix and amazon, stuff does get pulled.
Four: I'm not a casual fan, I'm a certified cinephile and movie geek so I will continue to cop until I run out of room which is the only reason I don't buy physical comics anymore or physical music (unless its vinyl). No more space

Why do you nikkas give a shyt whether someone else buys the physical copy or not? This thread is made once a week.

Me personally, I don't mind blu rays taking up space on my shelf. I like to look at them. I like cover art too. Plus, I like to take a movie with me if girl ain't got a fast enough internet connection or whatever might arise. :ehh:

I buy alot of movies, esp when they come with codes...me and 4 friends share a vudu account so I'm not buying everything I want. I do still collect and usually get suckered into box sets (like bond 50, wire, breaking bad...eventually game of thrones will prob have a great set)
Guess I'm just old school...
