Becuase they truly are the most complaining ass needy whining passive aggressive dikkbags that I have come across

They have a Reddit for them where all they do is complain about how they are in such danger and how everyone wants to kill them

How thier lanes are taken by cars a d how dare people park and force them to go around even if there's no other traffic

They are hypocritical a$$holes who constantly bytch about how drivers are following the rules of the road but they make every excuse to also not follow rules of the road , they are passive aggressive cowardly shytbags that suggest keying peoples cars or knocking off peoples mirrors if a car driver does something they don't like - they frequently suggest that people sabotage a person's car if they

and the ultimate? they take it upon themselves to admonish and try to tell people what they can or can't do - block lanes etc to "stop" cars for violating thier space...

I like riding a bike but these a$$holes need to get rocked in the face any time they open their mouths

As a runner, I fukking despise the mind set of the entitled cyclist. Your sport should not have to be factored into actual traffic patterns for large moving vehicles where you're actively putting yourself and the drivers in a heightened state of danger. fukk out of here

It's funny because I want U.S cities and planning to be less car-centric. I want more dense, walkable, bikeable cities like some Europe countries...

But my biggest allies in this argument are those whiny ass, smug bicyclist and then I'm like...

"Maybe cars aren't so bad :beli:"

Lol. I cycle so I'll chime in.

I think that road rage is part of sharing the roads in America.

When two people are in cars, most grievances are around things like not letting people merge, cutting the line, vehicle damage that costs thousands of dollars and a small fraction of the time, injury/death.

With cyclists, being that there's little/no protection, even the simplest mistakes that drivers make feel life-threatening and so people's reactions are a lot more aggressive. I think that's the part that drivers don't really grasp. If you are texting while driving and hit someone's car, then it's a bytch and a lot of paperwork, but your insurance will cover it. However, when you hit a cyclist, there's a much greater chance of hospitalization/death and so some people want a pound of flesh. I don't agree w/ it all the time, but I do get it. I liken it to someone randomly shooting a gun indiscriminately for fun. Yeah you might not have tried to hit me on purpose, but if I could've died because you're being reckless, I can understand why someone wants to beat your ass and teach you a lesson.

There are definitely cyclists that ride crazy out here. And there are also cyclists who are following the rules and still get flipped off by car drivers because traffic had to slow down, they had a bad experience with a cyclist before, etc. It's hard to really grasp the vibes until you are riding a bicycle at 10 mph and a car zooms by at 50 mph and flips you off because they had to slow down for three minutes on the way to work.

Im a dedicated cyclist, I love biking. Can't agree with this statement enough. Cac bikers and joggers believe the whole world should come to a stop for them. The joggers will yell at you for having the audacity to be on the sidewalk, (which is where you supposed to be depending on the speed limit) I had enough. Started making a beelines straight at joggers I see in the morning, they gonna yell at me anyway I give em a reason to be upset.

Also white women in intersections. Oh boy. And u better be careful driving certain downtowns cause they will walk right in front of your car while you driving and not even look at the traffic

This right here. This past weekend a white woman was riding down the middle of a very busy four lane street holding up traffic. She could have easily used the empty sidewalk, but nah. She’s rather hold up traffic.

there's a convo in there about the underlying rage in Americans driving, and what it represents

don't cycle, and I run/walk but don't involve myself in public policy debates about road usage or whatever

but I do notice how many people are angry and driving

I don't drive myself, so can admit that up front, but observationally from people I am in cars with or just witnessing, the slightest mistake or perceived mistake by another driver is immediate anger, but the situation itself, a bunch of cars with different personalities and different schedules all trying to do the same thing, should be where people are understanding and gracious, but it's the opposite.

like if you told twio total strangers to do almost any mundane task, they would do it two different ways. Driving isn't different, but everyone is invidually convinced of what others should be doing.

there's a few women I know/known who I told I hated being in a car with, because they were so tense, angry, anxious while driving.

Agreed. I hate cyclists. They need to take the empty sidewalk or stop riding in the middle of the road. Every time I see one, they are taking up a whole lane. And they never stop at stop signs, though they legally need to.

This is definitely a serious issue. A lot of American drivers have underlying anger issues and know their cars are weapons of destruction.

never understood the hatred. The law says they have a right to the roads so deal. I have never been inconvenienced for more than a few seconds. And cyclists are the ones at risk of death if some idiot hits them. Guy I worked with commuted on his bike every day and got fukked up by some dummy not paying attention.

I ride motorcycles so I understand their attitude. At the same time there are those kids on sport bikes treating the highway like GTA

They’re a scourge on society.

And like someone else said I want cities that are more friendly to pedestrians and vehicles other than cars.

It’s the sausage making and the people who make it that are creating a toxic conversation.

And I feel the same way about the development advocates. There are a couple GGWash staffers who can get their chains snatched.
