Is there a "free" or Govt. website that shows your criminal history?

Edit - Criminal and Driving records (couldn't update title) or any "Public Records"

Just wondering like how it is with 1 credit report a year...

Any help? I just want to know what details Govt has on me, and is it in depth like traffic violations etc. Some jobs require traffic shyt. Not like that's my field of work or anything....

Do they keep records of every time you are pulled over on suspicion and they run your license in the system? Cuz I get pulled over a few time (dreads etc).

I got a copy from the Essex county clerks office which they had on file for a court cases. It showed just court cases and the exhibits for those court case. It basically showed I had 2 orders of protection against me for the 2 frivolous cases against me that were dismissed. It would be nice to get free carfax on people.

I was curious about this as well a few months back, but most of the stuff I've seen just point you to paid sites...:beli: I'd say do searches in your local government database. I know my employer keeps a public file on each employee (been meaning to peek at it), though I'm sure that's a dead end for me...:skip:

Your driving record is available from your state's DMV (or in Maryland, the MVA :snoop:).

Your criminal record is stored in a state-wide database as it is used by police. That's not freely available to the public. I used to get the criminal record for every arrestee I brought into jail. Sometimes, their "rap sheet" was pages long and contained crimes committed in multiple states. I don't know how that is obtained outside of law enforcement purposes.
