With the debt ceiling looming and a growing number of tea partiers making the unprecedented claim that reaching the debt ceiling is no big deal, has hatred for the black guy in office reached the tribalism of thirdworld countries? I mean the type of ethnic tribalism where rationality and concern for country are thrown into the bushes in favor of one's "tribe" regardless of how that person's policies or actions affect the country as a whole? Which is a lot different than past disagreements based on ideology.

I have always thought the heterogenous composition and resulting tribalism in African countries has played a huge and destructive role in the development of those nations, is America getting a small taste of that now?

Honestly I always felt this place was a bit tribal. Its "Americans", then it's all the other "Americans" or ethnic Americans. Europe was full of tribes at one point, and cacs was slaughtering and warring with each other the same way African tribes were.

I hear you. But this is the first time, the dominant "tribe" has felt like they lost their position with the black guy in office.

That's a phenomenal description of Obamacare.

I lean more conservative than liberal but I'm more convinced than ever that 80% of the tea partiers are racist bigots

I guess I should have been more explicity and narrow in my presentation. What I mean is tribalism at the national governing level. Wha'ts going on now with the debt ceiling is unprecedented. You have people who want to push the country off a cliff rather than let the black guy win.

It's insanity in terms of governing that I don't think we have ever seen before.

No. There's a couple black dudes at work. Nothing close to tribalism of third world countries.

not really.

the jews only promote themselves in hollywood and politics and this has been going on for years unchecked. this is a bigger problem than your regular white folk hiring his own at the grocery store. or the rethugs gettin mad at barack.
