it'd be better if it was building to a rock vs. punk rematch at wrestlemania instead. like somebody else said, shield was protecting punk to serve him up to rock. heyman joining rock and calling him the best with the shield backing him up would probably give punk a ton of momentum, and a victory in a rematch at wrestlemania would elevate his career huge.

I guess it could work. After a Punk/Rock WM match (with Punk going over), Ryback, who will probably be part-time in the bushes at that time, can go after the Rock next. He can blame him by saying that it was essentially him (Rock) who was fukking with his title opportunities by having the Shield go ham on him week after week. This would eventually lead to a blow off match at Summerslam.
