Is the PS3 or Xbox 360 confined to internet like current gen?

I have played on the 360 and PS3 growing up when at friends' houses but I completely missed out on that gen.

I HATE THE CURRENT GEN.
LONG ASS DOWNLOADS AND PATCHES.
EVERYBODY ONLY WANTS TO PLAY APEX OR SOME SHOOTER BULLshyt.

A breh just want to plug in and play like the old ps2 days.

Nah, I have an PS3 and all the games I played for it are plug in and play, I had an 360 and GTA IV, Burnout Paradise and one of the Forza games was plug in and play..
