Sure its worth having it , alot of free expention available online so you wont regret it , Komplete and nexus together are a deadly combo no doubt , this is mainly what i use to .

I agree nexus 2 is not the best for realistic instruments but on the other hand you have some really good realistic instrument sample in kontakt 5 . Here a exemple of a beat i made with kontakt 5 mainly . The guitar and the rhode piano in the verse come from kontakt (chorus is a sample tought). I know it wont replace real instruments no doubt but still can make some good stuff with it .

Personally, I'm not a fan of Nexus. It has a decent variety of decent sounds, but the sound of the plugin itself annoys me. It has some type of built-in reverb that you can't turn off. Of course you can turn the reverb off on the patch, but the sound module itself has a distinct reverb type of sound that you can't turn off, which is not very appealing. It's as if the built-in reverb is a part of Nexus' sound engine. It's hard to explain, but any longtime Nexus-user knows exactly what I'm talking about. However, I've heard some genuinely nice records that used Nexus as its main source for sounds. I use it, but it's not my "Go-To" plugin when I'm in my zone.
