Only bad weather is snow and occasional hurricane which typically are massively weakened by the time they travel north
Mostly democrat, lots of jobs, might be the best location for travel especially since some like 75% of the country lives east of chicago and it's closest to europe and africa

My dad always says he loves this region. He started out in the USA in Oregon during high school and as you can imagine, a black Somali teen in Salem was odd in the 1970s.

He lived in Indiana for a year.

Then transferred to Uni of DC and has been here ever since. Not too much snow, no wildfires, not many hurricanes... its kind of in a sweet spot. The diversity of the DC Area plus the international center it is... is also great.
