this is for 80 and 70 babies....remember the feeling when this shyt first dropped?
sonically til this day, I've never heard nothing as unique as this record. That colorful chipmunk soul. Before that it was jazz samples and primo and rza dusty soul. But the blueprint had a very unique spin on soul. The drums were sped up and it was colorful and vibrant, not just grimy street corner shyt.
It featured a young and hungry just blaze, kanye and bink...all giving their BEST...they were hungry to blow. They laced hov, and of course hov spit his illest rhymes. That's how hov do, nobody out do hov, u give him your best and he gives it right back. I respect hov for that, a true professional.
Recorded in 2 weeks and dropped on 9/11 RIP
what a time to be alive, thats when hiphop was the shyt. At the lunch tables nikkas debate for like a whole year...jay or nas? BP or still?....I'm a nas stan so I said nas won but deep down hov won, but IMO still > BP simply because nas lyrics were more meaningful
I feel sorry for the new generation, that was a magical time, the passion. Its over now ..lil yatchy is yall nas and vert is yall hov
