North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
think about it. Why should any government dictate whether or not you have free speech. Something’s are naturally free.

And if a government can govern free speech, it can take it away as some countries do.

The bill of rights gives too much power to government and opens up Pandora’s box that leads to more control over things that shouldn’t be controlled.

It sounds like over thinking, but if you look at it in it’s simplistic form, the bill of rights shouldn’t even been necessary.

Do I even know the history of the Bill of Rights?

Y’all be talking outta ass with not relevant points to make. If the people who ratified the bytch couldn’t agree on adding them, I’m some how the worst poster for not agreeing?

How this country was set up in the first place with “states” complicated everything and eventually led to the civil war.

Governments role was intended to be so minior, that it wasn’t needed. Except the problem is that states had too much power.

And now look at the world we live in.

I thought the point was to make sure everyone knew what was up from a legal standpoint. Was the point to protect those rights by using the law? OP is a clown

I already posted the answer.

The bill of rights was a political compromise. And the federal government wasn’t meant to have enough authority to threaten any rights to that extent.

Not to mention, each state had its own bill of rights and initially the bill of rights didn’t apply to states. shyt was convoluted.

The formation of states only complicated shyt

I agree with the states making everything complicated but the Constitution was made to make a single, simple set of laws. It's basically the same argument now. Man makes everything complicated.

This country was built by people who didn't want to conform to a set of rules so it only makes sense that it's the same argument 200 years later

Nothing is "naturally free". Governments were (and mostly still are) in the habit of violating those rights regularly.

I get what op is saying and you're sorta right except there's only one real law in the universe; can you whip my ass?
