Man, they ruined Rema, took away everything that made him stand out and turned him into a generic Afrobeats star.

But the audience loves generic, because Afrobeats is still new enough that people haven’t heard enough to even know the difference.

So I can find a little happiness in the fact he’s finding success.

Sonically, he’s still drawing on Indian/Persian/Arab melodies. He sounds like he was in the Dumebi/Woman days

But it’s not about being snobbish it’s just about having more perspective on a genre and wanting to see it grow from an artistic perspective.

Wanting to see the genre talk about different topics actually affecting African youth, and showing a more grounded image of what life in Africa is like.

You’re not qualified to discuss the music or genre in an valuable manner, knock it off.
