3rd stone from Sun.
I've never entertained the N word being used by spics.

If you not familiar with NY Rican culture then yes you may find it offensive. Older heads who know what it is like and/or have people from there just understood that's a thing there. Youngins today don't get it, don't care, and ain't having it. Especially knowing the internet faux outrage for clout angle.

Ain't my fight. :hubie:

I don't like ANY of us saying saying that word, but I understand why WE say it even though I disagree with it. I served with two brehs(ADOS) in the Marines who were from the East Coast(NYC and Camden, NJ) and one New York Jamaican whose family has been in the U.S. since like the 50s or 60s and they grew up with Latinos saying nikka and it was nothing to them.

I was never a fan of Fat Joe, even before this controversy. I respected him as an artist and the work he put in with hip hop, but that's about it. I never liked hearing Non-Black people using the word, but he's worked with a lot of black rappers, and nobody has ever pressed him about it, so I guess he was given a "pass."

But to be honest, both Fat Joe and Tariq lost.

Fat Joe is going to be the bearer of the cross for all Latinos that try to leech off of Black Culture, and face the reckoning of decades of use of the N word. Even FBA NYers are fed up with this shyt now in late 2024.

Too many of us like to psiop ourselves by using many iterations of the nword. The logical next step is to let others do it too, since you are already fine with the debasement of each other through the myriad combinations of the nword many of us use.

There was an attempt to try to make it into something positive, but most of the time I see it used these days, it is invariably used in a slightly to very negative manner. So The people using it expose what they really think about the word, by the manner they are using it. Therefor, while some are fine with it being used by others on themselves and us, I will never be fine with it no matter who uses it.

The mind can be so damaged from social conditioning it fails to recognize irony..I suppose people feel they have a special relationship with fat Joe but not every Black person consigns that pass handout and that's the problem with thinking Black people are a monolith.
