And if so why the f##k is he so popular. Do people consider being mediocre as excellence nowadays?listening to some of his albums this morning and all of them have multiple tracks that I just have to skip. I like Wayne but his album discography ain't even top 20. Seem like the public fell in love wit his character more than the music he like a male version of Nikki Minaj.

I don't know if this is a discussion. Every popular artist will have fans that claim that they have a classic album.

Wayne fans will say C2. TI fans will say Trap Muzik or King. Ross fans will say Deeper Than Rap. Drake fans will say Take Care. Kanye fans will say College Dropout or Late Registration. Plus you have people who will count mixtapes as actual classics.

So this thread will get redundant in a quick minute.

eminem, nelly, hammer & kanye west have/had more across-the-board popularity and they dont have any classic albums either. so the answer is no. but if we're talking in terms of popularity in the hip-hop world, then yea wayne would be the most popular rapper with no classics.
and you just answered your own question with the bolded. the vast majority of people that think wayne has classic albums under his belt are people who didnt get into rap all like that until the 2000s(mostly mid-2000s at that).

TECHNICALLY, he does have a classic if you count that 2nd hot boys album, even tho he was the weakest on that joint.

:laff: @ you telling the homie that hes from the "era of average".

no offense sucka free i agree but this is  :deadhorse: status

hip-hop fans (kids and adults) taste has depreciated over time.

a like minded hip-hop head like me knows lil wayne is at best a 1-2 mic artist with no classics. but we live in an age where people are declaring mixtapes with re-used beats as classics. an age where people do not do research and just sip from the cup which is why you have people bashing finesse for macmiller.

here is a clip explaining why talib has done 3 or more songs with lil wayne.

though i agree with most of talibs rant, him biggin up that song and those rhymes are part of the floatation device that is his career. all mainstream artists big up wack juice because unfortunately they have to dip there toes in the juice pool too.
