She needs to stop with the feminist bullshyt agenda that she is pushing. She did not create this universe George Lucas did...........a man. If she wants to inject feminism into fictional work then she should make her own shyt.

Bu Bu Bu but what about all the young girls and women growing up in the world with disadvantages and looking for heroes mans?:sadcam:

The Motherless ones that need to see how strong women act?:mjcry:

What about your daughters breh?:to:

I don't mind have strong female leads, but It all seems forced for some reason.

Sarah Connor seemed like straight-up bad ass in Terminator 2, and it didn't seemed forced. It didn't seem forced when Ripley took out the first Alien and then took out the Alien Hive and Alien queen almost entirely by herself. Nobody said, "yeah that's feminism". I remember thinking that Ripley was bad-ass when I first saw Aliens so many years ago. It was believable to me.

So many female Characters seem forced now, and I can't really put my finger on why though.

Today's movies don't seem to build up someone's strength as heroes especially the female characters. You didn't even need to watch Alien to understand that Ripley was a strong person right from the beginning of Aliens. She had a no nonsense attitude from the very first lines that she spoke. Her clothes were masculine in the beginning of the film. She didn't wear a dress. She had a child, but she was never really referred to as a wife or a mother. You knew that she had faced a Xenomorph, but she didn't seem mentally scarred from it. In fact, she seemed to be a stronger person because of it. She already knew how to operate heavy machinery. And when she was given a gun, it seemed almost natural for her to hold it.

Where in any of the new Star Wars films did Rey show subtle hints of her strength prior to using it? In the The Force Awakens, it was just hinted that she had a special lineage that made her stronger, and that was what made her almost instantaneous mastery of the Force somewhat believable.

Now it's revealed that she had no special lineage, and she is strong because "God did it" basically. It's one of the worse Deus Ex Machina BS, that I have ever heard of.

Star Wars has been basically doing the same things for the last 40 years now. Light Sabers, Force, Corny lines and Space battles.

They need to do something new and leave Star Wars in the past.

How about make a Good Dune series? Or give Starship Troopers the proper move that it deserves? James Cameron actually gave us the only true to vision Starship Troopers Adaption.

Isn't that true of all modern characters? Ripley and Sarah are products of 80s standards of heroes. When we watched them, they were standing next to Arnold and Stallone. Physically imposing dudes in imposing situations. So they had to look like they could be in the same movie.

Put 80s Stallone next to Matt Damon's Bourne and it doesn't work.

Rey's competition in the heroics are Captain America, Starlord, or Liam Neeson in Taken.

So much of the heavy lifting of heroics in modern cinema goes to how good the CGI is that we've moved beyond what was shot in camera.

I don't give one flying fukk about a female lead, what I do care is world building and consistency and Kennedy has done a mediocre job at that. I liked Last Jedi A LOT but it's a prime example of them doing making it up as the go along.

I'm glad Rian Johnson is writing and setting up the whole story for his new trilogy - regardless if he directs all 3 films - because this whole new reboot of the Star Wars Universe needs a better guideline.

I think shes kind of like where snyder was with the DCEU only a little more confortable in the sense that the 3 movies shes spearheaded have all done good/great business however fans are getting ansy waiting for that true star wars film. The last jedi so far seems like the movie thats going to put that fan goodwill to the test now

easy just watch total recall (farrell version) or the last jedi, perfect examples of what is being cloaked as feminism today. But like i have always said ripley and connor were classic characters that just happen to be feminist icons because for them to look strong or shine men didnt have to look weak or bumbling. Today (especially in the movies i use as examples) for the strong woman to stand out the man or men have to be weak or dumbed down and it just comes off really unnatural and transparent..
