I saw someone posting this video on FB and there was a 20+ comment discussion on how deep his thoughts were and how it's so cool to see a 17 year old debating philosphy and thinking outside of the box and promoting free thought instead of guns and violence (Because Jaden Smith had to fight his whole life in them gangsta ass Chicago projects )


To me he's a smart dumb nikka who drops a bunch of stupid shyt that is not very deep. Now I'm not really trying to clown a rich ass 17 year old cuz he could've took the Paris Hilton/Kardashian/EJ Johnson route and just spend daddies money and be air head so props for him thinking but he seems like a cat who read a book or two and speaks on a whole bunch of shyt he doesn't really know about. Then hides behind criticism with the..."He's only 17 tho" excuse

To translate "Jaden speak" you have to be able to translate "indigo code." His delivery in that 30 second clip was a bit animated but I understand the core message behind it.

In a funny way, I thought about Bruce Lee's philosophy about Jeet Kune Do when Jaden was talking about borrowing from other people. The core of Bruce's message was "take what is useful and discard the rest." So to Bruce, you have to swallow your pride and not be afraid to borrow useful ideas regardless of where it comes from. People who are purists stay stuck in their pattern, ideas, way of life. Bruce would borrow from a boxer, fender, judo master to add it to his personal arsenal to evolve higher. Jaden said it more as walking up "stairs" but the general ideas are 1) Don't be afraid to borrow 2) You build off the ideas of others as you make it better and/or your own.

Jaden didn't say something abnormally deep there but on the flip side, I can't disagree with what he said there either.

lol i didnt watch the video but Jaden comes off pretentious because like others said he probably read a few books and now feels enlightened and has the answer to all the problems in the world. Then people act like all teens need to act like him not realizing most teens or people in general dont have extra time to just sit and wonder why the world is messed up. Most people have to make rent , pay bills and scrape together whatever they have just to make it so really Jaden might need to come back to reality if he really wants to help people and reach them at their level.
