that you can receive Test and Answer Key after taking the ACT?
this is very important information...that can help you study for future test.

please spread the word if it isn't a 'common' thing.

If you order and pay for a Test Information Release (TIR) form and test at a national test center on a national test date that offers this service, you will receive a list of your answers, a copy of the multiple-choice test questions used to determine your score, the answer key, and scoring instructions. (If you took the Writing Test, you will also receive a copy of the writing prompt, the scoring rubric, and the scores assigned to your essay by two readers.) Information about ordering a photocopy of your answer document (including your essay if you took the Writing Test) for an additional fee will be included with your materials

didn't know that. I only took the SATs though, is it the same?

Is there an age limit on the ACT?

no, speaking of age? I've heard segments of our population are taking this test in the 3rd and 4th grade. (collecting test, over the years and studying it...then blowing it out the water by the time they reach junior high and high school)

i think even more important than that is knowing that there are professional tutoring programs, its a mistake to study by yourself for a standardized test without professional help

im most definitely not speaking on free programs, im talking about hiring consultants and tutors, it is well worth the money, and not just for tests, but for interviews, writing statements etc to get into college or professional schools

a lot of people arent aware that you can do that and instead try to tough things out

I shelled out $1,000 for the GREs and was like:sadbron: but then when I got the results I scored significantly higher:ehh:.

Some people are just naturally brilliant, the rest of us need to use our brains to develop smart strategies for success. :smugbiden:

didn't know that, whats the difference between the test
I took both. The biggest difference I remember was that the ACT had a "Science" section, the SAT did not. Both test may have changed since I took them however (04/05).

Seems like the popularity of each test is pretty regional : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACT_(test)

I still think that the SAT has more "prestige" however....maybe this is just anecdotal, but I've always had a sense that it was more "important". But maybe that's because I only ever applied to schools in those regions where it's more popular. I actually didn't know that the ACT was poppin' like that until I looked this up on wikipedia 5 minutes ago. To be fair, most of Americas more prestigious schools are located along the coast, so that probably adds to the perception.
