Legal and Operational Considerations:

  1. Finalized Loan Forgiveness: Once a borrower's loan is officially forgiven, it becomes a legally binding action. Reversing such decisions would likely require extensive legal proceedings and could face substantial opposition.
  2. Administrative Complexity: Reinstating forgiven loans would involve recalculating balances, reissuing payment schedules, and potentially dealing with borrowers who have adjusted their financial plans based on the forgiveness. This process would be administratively burdensome and could lead to errors and disputes.
  3. Public and Political Backlash: Reversing loan forgiveness could result in significant public outcry and political repercussions, as many borrowers have relied on these programs to alleviate financial burdens.

While the Trump administration may attempt to halt or reverse ongoing student debt relief programs, reinstating loans that have already been forgiven would be legally complex and unprecedented. Borrowers who have received official forgiveness are unlikely to see their loans reinstated without significant legal proceedings.

in other words FAFO, legally.

No. Once a loan is discharged, it's gone. You would have to sign documents to engage in a new lending action, and I doubt anybody is going to do that.
He’s probably going to end that 10 year public student loan forgiveness though. Another “tangible” that will negatively impact black people with student loans who were working at schools and non profit organizations.
