I read many sources where it says that eating white rice is actually bad for abs and things like this, but this article here says that a lot of athletes eat white rice.

The Reason Athletes Eat White Rice Instead of Brown

What are your thoughts on this? I'm far from an athlete. And I looked at the "Abs start in the kitchen" thread and no mention of white rice was made, so I'm just curious. Btw, unlike the folks in that thread, I am way too skinny so I look at something like white rice to help caloric intake. I don't want to keep eating it though if it's going to be detrimental to getting abs though (make me skinny with a belly)

I just finished eating a big bowl of white rice with cheese, mushrooms, black pepper, and garlic cloves. It tasted good, but I'm worried that it might not taste as good if I kept all of the ingredients the same, but replaced white rice with quinoa or something else.

*or would y'all consider the article that I linked as fake news?

Easily digestible, solid source of carbs especially pre training.

:manny:

People demonize it because it’s “high glycemic” but that’s really only a factor if you eat it without a protein source.

Watermelon is high as shyt on the glycemic index but I’ve never heard anyone say they got fat or lost their abs from eating it.

You can eat white rice and still have abs all of that is irrelevant calories in vs calories out...If you want to make it easier Intermittent fasting.

To be honest you can damn near eat anything you want to eat. The issue is how much of it will you eat.

Ain't a person on this planet that is wolfing down watermelon at the same rate they eat rice. Not a soul so of course you'd never hear it.

Above the fray.
OP,

not gonna read the linked article but keep in mind that athletes train for a sport.....not to look good with their shirts off. Article seems to be nonsense judging by the title though.

The more muscle you have, generally speaking the better the better you can process and use carbs for fuel.

It very much so demonized.....
