SE
Capcom (idc about MH 3ds/Wii its not big here)
Level 5
Konami
Tecmo Koei
Sega ( I guess you can make an argument for their PC catalog)
etc

r all close to their respective death beds and haven't been able to present a massive AAA series outside of old ass metal gear and Final Fantasy... you can argue that both are slipping as well. Most Japanese rpg are damn near niche status right now and stick to 3ds/vita. Console gamers are damn near extinct in japan... so i plan on seeing more devs focus on dying handhelds next generation this shyt sucks:upsetfavre:

I think the only Japanese game I played last year was Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Dragon's Dogma. I enjoyed those games but I remember once upon time last gen it was mostly Jap games I would knock out. :shaq2:

Not at all. In fact I think they're on the verge of a resurgence. I think Platinum Games is going to have the best output of any other developer in 2013. Square is wack but whatever, they were smart to pick up Eidos so they're not going anywhere. Capcom makes poor decisions and a few bad apples but mostly really solid games. Konami's got some big projects in the works. Level 5 just released a critical darling. Shinji Mikami opened a new studio with Bethesda and is working on a survival horror game that I bet will be dope. Tecmo and Sega are admittedly pretty bad outside of a few games but you can't win em all.
