Is it safe to say for the most part that nexus was a success?

Alot of the former members are getting nice runs on tv lately..obviously d-bry and barrett are the most successful.but ryback has re-established himself.dareeb young who i thought would be released is set for a run with the tag titles.even heath slater is getting some shine.im sure gabriel has potential..thoughts!

They're all looking good in their own way. Would have been nice to see them play out the actual Nexus angle though. Jury still out on Gabriel but this new team with him and Tyson Kidd can be entertaining.

Mason Ryan was in Nexxus for a minute...is he even still employed?
Black Cena is doing alright for himself

Whatever happened to Michael Tarver?

Otunga is still surprising to me, I thought he would be one of the first to be cut but he made himself a good gimmick as a "harvard lawyer".

His gimmick sucks...i think they keep around for the Jennifer Hudson connection because he gets buried in every match and in general is a cornball and by the way, what is in that damn cup??

Why hadn't they used Jennifer Hudson yet? I'm pretty sure Lillian Garcia sang the national anthem on the past couple of Wrestlemanias, Jennifer could have done it why haven't they put in the call?

I think Fantasia and ol girl from the p*ssycat dolls sang too

I have no idea why they haven't put the call into Jennifer...it may not necessarily have to to with that aspect more to do with the fact that he is a "known" figure outside of WWE because of his association to her and you know they really want to tap into hollyweird..besides...they have referred to that fact often

How many of them are successful because they were in Nexus besides Barrett? It seems to me that most didnt hit their strides until they struck out on their own and adopted their own personalities.

Yeah... and that was kinda to be expected cause he was clearly the leader of the Nexus. Everybody else coulda been anybody else, which was proven when Slater, Gabriel, and Young got replaced by Husky, McGillicutty, and Mason Ryan. Even tho' the latter three haven't broken thru yet.

All in all, it turned out to produce some guys who got way more shine than they ever would have if they'd debuted separately. Barrett's time is coming... he's the only one (outside of Bryan but that doesnt count) who always seemed like he was ready to be a star on his own.

Nexus was a colossal failure. you dont have a stable exist for 1/2 ppv runs and disband them. any other era these guys would just now be breaking up. It was a way to get 7 new guys on tv showcasing their talent together without getting lost in the shuffle which happened for most of them anyway for a good year.

It was just a merch cash grab (embarrassed for anyone who bought a nexus shirt) and a way to make Cena look all mighty once again.

Very true.but Maybe besides Daniel Bryan, if not for that first exposure would alot of them be making the same impact they are now?

What I always say about Nexus is that most of those dudes will likely never main event anything else for the rest of their careers. But because of the Nexus storyline, they're part of a limited few people who can say they were in WWE and within their first few months on TV, they main evented a PPV. Some of 'em were destined to fall to the wayside after they split up, but it was def. a good launchpad for them. I can't imagine that Heath Slater or Darren Young would've debuted on TV under any other terms and gotten to do half as much.
