Is it me or is American media lacking in stories where protagonists learn from defeat

In popular Asian shows it seems common for lead characters to take Ls and then have to train and go back to the drawing board to learn from their defeat to come back stronger.

It feels like there aren't that many stories like that for western shows. Thats basically what the last two avengers movies were and people loved that shyt so why isn't there more

I think it used to be more of a thing on American cinema but jas fallen off lately.
