Is it me or do corporations have a way of making you feel great during interviews...

only to have you fail in getting the job.

I remember damn near every interview I have I leave feeling like :ehh: or :win: and then when you dont get that call back you immediately start noticing the little things that make have ruined your chances like :ohhh: or :shaq2:

My boy just had an interview for an internal accountant position at Wal-mart and thought he did well. I was happy for him but deep down I was like :usure:. 2 weeks later he still searching for jobs.

Do they intevriew that many applicants that you have to be the best of the best of the best to get that job? Are we naiive? Or is it all just for the sake of the process when you know a dikksucker or the directors nephew is gonna get the job anyways? I wonder :manny:.

As someone who did hiring, its good to be extra nice even to people who I know right away will never get the job. Theres a lot of crazy people out there and you want to avoid any potential lawsuits by being negative on interviews.

definitely makes sense. you never know whats going on.

What are some unorthodox reasons you mayve passed on an applicant?

I always make it a point to converse with people around me slightly in the waiting room, and being nice to receptionists. You never know whos evaluting you :ld:

Usually I can tell by the end of the interview whether I'll get an offer.

This is the worst feeling ever. Nailed the interview and got NOTHING in return. Makes you think :wtf: "Did the interview even happen?"

Hate seeing under qualified people get the job breh :snoop:

Its good to be nice but we can see through the fake niceness.

Unorthodox reason, Nothing really.

I avoid all those stupid generic interview questions. Find out what jobs they worked before, what skills they have. If they dont have the necessary skills what are they doing to counteract that.

The bottom line in hiring is sometimes theres lots of great candidates, sometimes they all suck and you end up hiring a bunch just because you need them :snoop:

If you have a good skill set you will get hired by one company or another.

Theres been one time recently where after I did the interview i was like :snoop:

Research Analyst position for Russell Investments. That shyt was going amazing the first half, then when the second interviewer came and started asking some of the same questions as the HR rep i was like :whoa::what:. I buckled. Was rattled and didnt answer Couple technical questions to my liking and I knew I didnt get a 2nd interview.

its kinda how it works. I didn't get the job countless times. and each time, I swore I was gonna get the job after leaving the interview. but hell, lots of times, they have a shyt load of candidates for each position, and even if u interview well, the odds still aren't in ur favor.

As a hiring manager, I'm extremely nice in all my interviews, which is why the hiring process is SO exhausting.

They may have liked you a lot, but interviewed candidates after you that stood out better. You just never know. I filter the apps pretty well and get lots of really good candidates that make up a good portion of my interviews, but only one or two stellar ones stick out per job posting.

Damn I thought I was the only one who had this problem. Great interviews plus you have all the necessary skills, experience, education, and more needed for the position and everything. Walk out the interview knowing you gonna get the offer, send thank you letters, follow up and everything only to never get that call back.
